One thing that stood out to us when choosing them for our interview is the fact that they create such unique and unusual fragrances. When it comes to inspiration for new scents, they choose things that they like and think will sell well, like cocktails! “Cocktails were our first main collection. Our next one will be the Italian range which will include limoncello and prosecco scents.”
Kiss Air Candles have been featured in many prestigious magazines, as well as winning awards like the Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday and Jacqueline Gold Women on Wednesday. We asked how these things had changed the company and Louise told us that “#SBS and #WOW are good for networking and getting advice. Each of these things have helped to get our company out there, it’s PR for our business.”
As well as selling products individually, Kiss Air Candles also offer a monthly melt club where you can get 6 fragranced candles delivered to your door each month. Louise said that this is “a popular choice with customers because it’s such great value. We plan on reinventing the monthly melt club soon so that it won’t just include melts but members will also get candles and bath products.”
For every toasted marshmallow and cut grass candle bought, Kiss Air Candles donate £1 to Wood Green. When asked why this charity was so important, Louise told us that; “They are a local charity that takes in unwanted dogs, cats and other animals; it is a really great cause. My sister used to work there and we also rehomed our dog Bert from there. We try to go to their fundraising events when we can and show our support.”
The future of Kiss Air Candles looks very exciting. They introduce new collections every season, which means we will be seeing new products in summer, autumn and then at Christmas! Louise said that they will be adding “reed diffusers, car air fresheners and more bath products” very soon. They will be released “scent by scent, the most popular ones coming first.”
Kiss Air Candles recently took out a policy with CraftCover and we were keen to find out why they chose us over other insurance providers. Louise said; “We started selling to customers in the U.S and our previous insurance company was very expensive. CraftCover were able to cover us for selling to international markets like America and Canada and offered a competitive quote which was great value.”
